Use Post Title Not Blog Title in Feedburner

Hello there Dear Fellow Blogger,

I would just like to make a friendly suggestion.

Now, keep in mind that I have no seo knowledge to back this up.

However, lack of actual knowledge on a subject has never stopped me from putting my two cents in.

So, my suggestion is that, if you are using feedburner, you really should be using post titles rather than your blog title.

I can’t tell you how many times I have passed by a post in my inbox because it was a blog title while right below it was a post title.

Tell me, which would catch your attention more if it was sitting in your inbox.

(No, I don’t actually have seven reasons. Lol.)

Don’t feel bad if you haven’t changed this.

Frankly, I just found out how to do it myself and it is really, really simple.

Remember the post that I did yesterday on changing your feedburner if you change your domain.

Well, I stumbled across the magic of how to change my post titles in feedburner as well but I decided to make it a separate post.

In feedburner, under the Publicize tab, find Email Branding.

Google has kindly included the notes:

This line will appear as both the Subject of update emails and as the main title in the body of the message.

HOT TIP
Use ${latestItemTitle} to insert your latest post’s title into the Subject/Title of email.

I just stuck the code ${latestItemTitle} and the words by AmaBlogger.com in that field.

Done.

You can take it a step further and put a check mark in the box that reads Change Subject when an email has 2 or more items.

Then chose from one of the three options provided:

AmaBlogger: ${latestItemTitle}
AmaBlogger: “${latestItemTitle}” plus ${m} more
AmaBlogger (in this message: ${n} new items)

${n} shows the total number of items

${m} shows the number of items beyond the latest

Ok, now we are really done.

Don’t forget to subscribe (or resubscribe as the case may be) to continue to receive such wonderful how to tips!

One day, I may come across one that you really, Really, REALLY need.
