Weekly Blog on blogging

I haven’t been doing much with blogging for the past few weeks.

It was the eternal battle of needing money yesterday versus building an income for the future.

And, unfortunately, the future was losing the war.

Getting to kids of to college in August was already a struggle.

But then my cell phone died.

I feel a little lost without my cell phone.

I didn’t know how addicted I was to the thing until it was gone.

One thing that I struggled, and

PinchOfYum.com March Traffic and Income Report – $17,118.92

First, the bloggers shared their very impressive blog earnings. I would be happy with just the Adsense income myself. Of course they also showed the expenses in running their blog. Net profit of $17k. Very, very nice.

A good tip was the 1% rule. That is that the goal is to simply improve 1%. A very doable goal. I should easily be able to improve my blogs 1% each month as should you.

Then, of course, came the traffic reports. Yeah, my numbers are nowhere

April 2014 Blog Income Report

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Recently, my friend’s renewed interest in blogging, and especially how to make money blogging, has resparked my interest in blogging, especially how to make money from my blog.

Thus, I have decided to jump in on the trend of reporting my income from blogging on a monthly basis (my income from working from home in general will be found on mscrookedhalo.com).

I have also decided to only report the income that has hit my bank account.

If I can’t spend it, it doesn’t count, right?

Product Review Sites ~ How to create very profitable review sites!

Apparently there are two types of review sites: brand review (ex. phillips razors) and industry review (ex. all things shaving). He recommends quite a few places to get products or one could simply stick with Amazon, which sells just about everything. Of course, it is always best to be the first to review the brand new product (ie, when a new cell phone drops, I read reviews up until the day I get one in my hands. lol.) Apparently, you don’t even have to have

SEO in 2014 – What Google Won’t Say by Lisa Irby

What I like about Lisa Irby’s videos is that they’re real talk for real people.

Sometimes “gurus” tend to talk way over my head but Ms. Irby keeps it at a level even us amateurs bloggers can understand.

In this video, she explains how Google thinks and why 2005 methods of building your website will definitely no longer work.

Growing a FB Page from the Beginning by Holly Homer

This is an awesome video for Facebook newbies or for those of us who were already outright confused on how to grow our Facebook Fans even before all of Facebook’s changes.

Warning, it is a bit long. 46 minutes long…but well worth the watch (or in my multitasking case, the listen)…
