How to make sidebar have shadows behind boxes in sidebar

I only use the Atahualpa theme on all of my blogs but I imagine that code works on any website.

However, I am no website designer. So, I have no clue where you would put it on your website if you are using anything other than Atahualpa on WordPress.

As for Atahualpa, the steps are simple.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Scroll down to Appearance.

Click on Atahualpa theme options.

Scroll down to Style Widgets.

In the widget container box, type the following code:

box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px #999;

Save and done.

Adjust setting numbers to your preferences.

How to make round corners on sidebar in Atahualpa theme

I love the Atahualpa theme. It is the free theme that I use on absolutely every one of my blogs.

But, for someone who does not speak a bit of html code, it can be a struggle to make my blogs pop design-wise.

While searching the Atahualpa forum for a solution to one problem, I often stumble across a cool idea.

A trick that I have added to each of my blogs in adding round corners to the sidebars (and lately to the content boxes as well).

The steps are super simple.

Go to Appearance.

Click Atahualpa Theme Optioins.

How to change your permalinks and why

After you change your tagline, the next step that you need to take is to change your permalinks.

Settings => Permalinks

I always set my permalinks to Custom Structure and type /%postname% in the box.

Your permalinks should always be your post name for search engine optimization purposes but also for the readability of the user.

The date is a hindrance because:

It looks neat and organized, It makes it easier if you ever want to recycle a post (say, if wordpress changes the way to

How to make your Atahualpa theme more mobile friendly

How to make your Atahualpa theme more mobile friendly

Update: I now use a plugin to make my Athaulpa blogs mobile responsive. Read the review by clicking here.

While checking my Google Adsense stats, I clicked on the links Multi-Screen, Site Health, and most importantly, Revenue Optimization.

Although I appreciate the help from Google, their suggestions is just so much coding hell for me.

I just don’t speak the language.

I couldn’t even figure out how to increase the font in mobile only.

However, the good folks of atahualpa did help me increase my score by a

How to remove 503 Temporarily Unavailable Error Code with Dreamhost

Last week was extremely stressful for me blog-wise.

The week that I not only decided to start writing more consistently on my book blog, I started getting a 503 Error Code.

“503 Service Unavailable The server is currently unavailable (because it is overloaded or down for maintenance). Generally, this is a temporary state.”

Ahhh!!!!

Being proactive, I attempted to do a search for solutions.

Nada.

So, I contacted my hosting company, Dreamhost.

“Thanks for contacting us. I apologize for the delayed response.

Amazon Add To Cart Button

I recently started blogging more regularly on my book blog, which pretty much exclusively uses Amazon Associate for income.

While researching, I am across a comment that says that utilizing the Add To Cart feature should significantly increase my click through rate and, in turn, my earnings.

I also learned that if the customer uses the Add To Cart option then the 24 hour cookie clock is not in effect.

That’s right, I would get the affiliate sale whenever the customer actually pay.

The basic code is
